How far each stream sits from PTP time, in microseconds and lines. It exposes unlocked senders, the wrong clock and timestamps in the future.

ST 2022-7: both paths

The app finds the red and blue paths. It shows loss per path, packets the other path rescued, loss after merging and path skew against receiver classes A, B and C. See when protection covers a fault, and when a path is gone and the protection with it.

Built-in grandmaster

No PTP source on the bench? The toolkit becomes the grandmaster on the Intel X550 or NVIDIA ConnectX-6 Dx, with ST 2059-2 or AES67 profiles and BMCA. You always have a reference.

NMOS controller

IS-04 discovery through a registry or peer-to-peer mDNS. IS-05 connect and disconnect, and sender on/off. Same app as the analysis.

NMOS node and registry

The toolkit registers as its own NMOS node. It ships a local IS-04 registry (nmos-cpp) with a web UI for networks without one.

Questions engineers ask

Can it generate test signals, not just analyze?

Yes. Send a test pattern, still image, mp4 file, raw video file or pcap replay as ST 2110-20 video in 720p, 1080p or 2160p. Add an ST 2110-30 test tone, PTP-aligned. The SDP is generated and the sender shows up in NMOS. Blackmagic IP10 works as a test source too. Use it to test a receiver or downstream device on its own.

The stream decodes fine but a receiver drops frames. Why?

Almost always packet pacing. ST 2110-21 governs when packets leave, not whether the picture is right. A bursty sender can look perfect on a tolerant receiver and overflow a strict one at the same average bitrate. A packet-interval histogram shows it. Does it support NMOS?

Yes. An IS-04/IS-05 controller with registry or peer-to-peer mDNS discovery, the toolkit's own NMOS node, and a local registry (nmos-cpp) with a web UI. You can run a full NMOS setup on one machine. The diagnosis also checks the registry against the network.Read the NMOS guide

What hardware do I need?

A Windows 10/11 PC with a network adapter. Supported cards: Intel X550 (10 GbE) and NVIDIA ConnectX-6 Dx (25 GbE). Full 4K uses DPDK on either card. A standard Windows NIC handles 1080p. DPDK is optional. It needs administrator rights, Windows test signing mode and Secure Boot off; the setup guide explains what that means for the machine.
